Summary

Child's dress. Pale blue twilled cotton, checkered with pairs of fine red stripes. Bodice lined with white twilled cotton High round neck with narrow band, yoke front, and back each side of CB opening, in one section down to waistband. CB fastening with hook and eye at neck, drawstring at waist, and pearl buttons and buttonholes (two missing). CF and CB bodice smocked with red cotton over fitting lining. Long sleeves in one section, full and pleated to shoulder, gathered and smocked at outer wrist. Skirt in two widths closely gathered to bodice. Four tucks above broad hem. Pocket in left side seam. Neck and wrists trimmed with openwork embroidery. Neckband, bottom edge of yoke, and inner wrist worked with featherstitching in red cotton.
