Summary

Boy's dress. Corded silk and wool (poplin) tartan with white ground (a variant of Dress Stuart). Lined with white glazed cotton. Fronts each in one section flared at sides. Narrow double breasted fastening (r. over l.) with seven pairs of pearl buttons and two hooks and loops on neckband. Pocket near hem on each side with three ornamental buttons. Narrow turned-down collar with seam at back. Upper back in two sections which continue below waist level to form two tabs covered upper part of pleated skirt section. Tabs edged with white cotton openwork embroidery have three ornamental buttons set vertically along CB edges. Sleeves in two sections, semi-circular cuffs turned back with two buttons on outside. Skirt pleats caught down on inside with two pieces of tape, top edge bound with white silk. Tape loop at neck for hanging.
