Summary

White muslin. Shaped to fit head. Drawstring at neck tying inside centre back. Embroidered all over in white cotton with bands of sprig pattern alternating with openwork, and forming lozenge pattern on top of head. Narrow bobbin lace edging (East Midlands) at neck. Double lace frill at face edge added later.
