Summary

Public: Broad squat vase with tall flared neck, white earthenware, decorated with stylised flowers and leafy stems in underglaze blue and orange-red, beneath transparent lustre glaze. Private: Broad squat vase on high everted footring, rising to tall narrow neck with flared rim. White earthenware, painted underglaze with stylised pattern comprising four stems of slender leaves and heart-shaped flowers reaching down from neck to waist, alternating with four large heart-shaped flowers above waist, and four heart-shaped flowers at neck. Ground and painted decoration colours range from pale blue-green and yellow at neckrim through orange and deep red at lower neck to streaked turquoise and dark green around lower body, deep orange-red foot with painted wavy line and dot border in bright red. Experimental transparent lustre glaze applied in broad vertical strokes gives lush streaked colours obscuring painted pattern.
