Summary

Narrow waisted vase with wide base on inverted foot, and narrower neck with short everted rim. Six shallow indentations at foot and shoulder give gently undulating shape round lower and upper body. Opalescent-veined glaze on interior and exterior gives streaky feathery effect, red earthenware body visible beneath the glaze, especially round rim. At edge of rim small patches of tiny green Starry Opalescent crystals, crystalline glaze containing cobalt fired to 1000 C.
