Summary

Public: Pear shaped vase with short neck, red earthenware, with turquoise Opalescent-veined glaze and large patches of green Starry Opalescent crystals. Private: Pear shaped vase on prominent footring, with short, narrow neck and flared rim. Opalescent-veined glaze on interior and exterior of vase gives streaky feathery effect, red earthenware body visible in patches and beneath turquoise glaze streaks, especially round rim. Body covered in long streaks and patches of green Starry Opalescent crystals, crystalline glaze containing cobalt fired to 1000 C, thickest round neck and shoulder and reaching down body.
