Summary

Public: Thistle shaped vase with very wide, tall, flared neck, red earthenware, with turquoise Opalescent-veined glaze and green Starry Opalescent crystals. Private: Small globular vase with flattened shoulder beneath very wide flared, tall neck. Opalescent-veined glaze on interior and exterior of vase gives streaky feathery effect, red earthenware body visible beneath turquoise glaze streaks, especially round rim. Glaze on exterior has purplish hue, interior a paler turquoise. Round edge of rim on exterior patches of tiny green Starry Opalescent crystals, crystalline glaze containing cobalt fired to 1000 C.
