Summary

Public: Globular vase with flat shoulder and short narrow neck, red earthenware, with turquoise Opalescent-veined and curdled glaze and green Starry Opalescent crystals. Private: Globular vase tapering from wide flat shoulder to prominent foot-ring, with short, narrow neck and flared rim. Opalescent-veined and curdled glaze on interior and exterior of vase gives streaky feathery effect on sides, curdled effect round neck and rim, red earthenware body visible beneath glaze streaks, especially round rim. Sides and foot-ring of vase almost entirely covered with green Starry Opalescent crystals, crystalline glaze containing cobalt fired to 1000 C, turquoise glaze showing through in patches.
