Summary
Public: Figure of a girl gardening, white earthenware with a pearlware glaze, painted in green, yellow, turquoise, purple, red, blue, brown and black overglaze enamels. Private: Figure of young girl standing against bocage tree, with flowers held in her apron and watering can in her right hand resting on ornamental grotesque fountain. Rural dress comprising pale purple skirt with yellow apron, white bodice with turquoise collar and turquoise-brimmed white hat. Watering can and fountain picked out in red, brown and blue, beneath bright green bocage with red and purple flowers. High oval base with shaped sides and apied shredded clay grass, picked out in bright green, turquoise and blue, with relief-moulded flower and plain white tablet on side impressed with title 'GARDNERS' picked out in black. Finely crazed pearlware glaze.
