Summary

Public: Teabowl, soft paste porcelain, transfer-printed overglaze in black with scene of seated man and woman in landscape with flute and book. Private: Teabowl with slightly tapered footring and everted rim. Transfer printed overglaze with The Singing Lesson printed in two halves. On one side a man and a woman seated on a bank, the man playing a flute and the woman holding an open book and singing, to the right a tree. The other side shows classical ruins and urn. Enamelled overglaze black band inner rim.
