Summary

Public: Teabowl, soft paste porcelain, transfer-printed overglaze, in deep red, with garden leisure scenes. Private: Teabowl, slightly tapered footring, everted rim. Transfer printed overglaze, deep red, exterior. Tea Party no 1 depicts man and woman (left) seated on elegant garden seat, facing right, she holds teabowl and saucer, stirring the drink, he holds in left hand, teabowl and saucer right hand, pedestal table in front. Dog sits forground left, tree behind, garden landscape. Black page, right, fills teapot from kettle. Bottom left is the inscription R.H.F. The Wheeling Chair shows two men, one pushing and one pulling, four wheeled chair holding seated girl with doll. Garden landscape, tree, right. Enamelled overglaze, deep red, interlaced scroll border inner rim.
