Summary

Public: Coffee cup, soft paste porcelain, wishbone handle, transfer-printed black overglaze and colour enamelled overglaze coat of arms and tea party. Private: Coffee cup, inverted bell shape, everted rim, tapered footring, wishbone handle with peak at thumbrest and spurs at terminals. Transfer-printed overglaze with two scenes. The Tea Party No.2 depicts man and woman seated on elegant bench, she passes teabowl and saucer to him, staff at his right. Front left laden pedestal table, distant left tree, garden landscape, dog foreground. Other scene shows transfer-printed cartouche bearing arms of Wilson impaling Langton. Enamelled overglaze detail "Arms: Sable a wolf salient or, on a chief argent three mullets sable, WILSON, impaling. Per pale argent and gules a cross double pommelled counterchanged and overall a bendlet sable, LANGTON. Crest: A demi-wolf or." (Marshall). Enamelled overglaze black band inner rim.
