Fawn twilled wool over stiff foundation, lined white silk, brim binding and band fawn corded silk ribbon straight sides, flat top, narrow brim turned up at sides, sides lined leather at base. Worn by William Ewart Gladstone (1809-98) Prime Minister and donor's father-in-law.
