Valour and Cowardice
Summary
A robed female figure, Valour, sits cross legged on top of a shield which is crushing the struggling figure of Cowardice. Only the left arm, shoulder, head and neck of Valour are visible lying face down under the shield. Valour wears a helmet and has her right arm outstretched originally holding something in her right hand. To her left side is a shield. This was a plaster model for the Wellington Monument in St.Paul's Cathedral, London. See this version in the V&A: http://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O75817/valour-and-cowardice-model-alfred-stevens/
