Public: Saucer-dish made of soft paste porcelain, shallow bowl form, transfer-printed in black with romantic garden scene. Private: Saucer-dish, shallow bowl form, tapered footring, slightly everted rim, transfer-printed overglaze, black, upper surface. L'Amour shows man and woman seated on garden bench, maid stands behind, wooded garden landscape. Woman, on right, flutters fan, man leans forward to kiss her outstretched hand, dog and patches of foliage foreground, . Right, garden roller lies on ground in front of urn surmounting ornate plinth. Distant right balustrade terminates with statue on plinth and gate. Left, Neptune and four horse fountain, trident held aloft, formal garden, row of trees. Enamelled overglaze black band inner rim. pattern : L'Amour.
