Summary

Toy tea service, white earthenware, comprising tall globular teapot tapering to base, with plain handle and spout and ball finial to cover; deep cylindrical lidded sugar bowl curving in to footring, with ball finial to cover; deep cylindrical slop bowl curving in to footring; small globular milk jug on footring, with inset sparrow beak lip and ribbed handle; six cylindrical cups, each curving in to footring, with wishbone handle; six plain saucers with upward curved rims. Transfer-printed decoration in underglaze blue of wide variety of wild and farmyard birds and animals, including turkeys, ducks, pheasants, chickens, dogs, cows, horses, donkeys, rabbits, goats, pigs, sheep, deer, foxes, squirrels and a zebra, scattered over body of each piece in different combinations.
