Private: teabowl underside second label torn four-bar gate & sheep & garden & sewing basket & furniture & architecture & rural landscape & dog Coffee cup : tapered footring, slightly everted rim, reeded loop handle, transfer-printed overglaze, black, exterior. Harlequin and Columbine Surprised depicts man, right, and woman seated on garden bench, pedestal table, laden with overflowing basket, front left, watched by another man, dressed as Pierrot, half hidden by the bushes and tree behind them. Seated man in chequered costume and mask, he has leg over woman's lap, lovers arms around each other. Garden landscape, distant right fence and gate, front mass of foliage. Teabowl : tapered footring, transfer-printed overglaze, exterior, black. Harlequin and Columbine Surprised depicts similar scene to that on coffee cup with four-bar gate and hedge replacing fence to right. Five Sheep shows two standing and three seated sheep (possibly one creature is a sheepdog) grazing in rural landscape, front mass of foliage. Saucer : tapered footring, everted rim, transfer-printed overglaze, black. Harlequin and Columbine Surprised depicts central figure scene similar to that on coffee cup and teabowl, without gate and landscape to right. Scissors on table with sewing basket. pattern : Harlequin and Columbine Surprised pattern : Five Sheep (teabowl)
