Public: Mug, soft paste porcelain, reeded loop handle, transfer-printed overglaze in pale black with bust portrait, flanked by winged and mythological figures. Private: evidence of removed paper label : underside armour & musical instrument & cloud Mug, cylindrical, slightly tapering towards rim from foot, reeded loop handle. Transfer-printed overglaze, pale black. Marquis of Granby, central print, shows bust portrait, facing right, formal dress, receding hairline. Beneath, leaf and ribbon spray. Fame no 2 shows winged figure, flowing robes, emerging from cloud, blowing trumpet and holding laurel spray. Mars depicts figure seated on cloud, wearing armour, shield in left hand, spear in right, plumed helmet.
