Summary

Public Straight sided tankard made of soft paste porcelain, painted in blue, green, yellow, brown, purple and iron red overglaze enamels with Chinese scene and 'famille rose' decoration. Private: Finely thrown cylindrical tankard, with flared foot and ribbed loop handle ending in heart-shaped triangular terminal. Side opposite handle painted with Chinoiserie scene comprising woman and child, surrounded on both sides by tables of different heights with vases of flowers and bowls of fruit, and tall stand carrying a lantern and bird on a perch. Inside and outside rim decorated with 'famille rose' floral border in pink, blue, yellow, green and iron red, iron red floral decoration down back of handle.
