Summary

Public: Circular side plate made of white earthenware, transfer-printed in underglaze blue with variation on blue 'Willow' pattern. Private: Circular side plate with shallow well, flattened rim and no footring. Transfer-printed in well with Chinese inspired landscape approximating standard 'Willow pattern'. This comprises pagoda and trees in fenced garden to right, river to left with single figure on small arched bridge at bottom left, buildings along river bank in distance at top left. Elaborate diaper border to rim, comprising cell grounds, scrollwork and flowers. Three groups of four stilt marks to underside of rim, three single stilt marks to upper side.
