Summary

Public: Coffee cup, tea cup and saucer, soft paste porcelain, decorated with an underglaze blue border and festoons and vases in turquoise, black and yellow overglaze enamels and gilt. Private: Tall fluted coffee cup on tapered footring, with everted scalloped rim and ear shaped loop handle. Decorated round rim with wide border of underglaze royal blue, overpainted with interlinking gilt scrolls. Main body divided into six narrow panels by ornate gilt figure of eight motifs, turquoise and black husk festoons suspended from gilt loops in the centre of each panel. On side of cup opposite handle, circular gilt-outlined medallion over pattern, filled with ornate classical vase in yellow and grey. Turquoise husk border round footring, surmounted by elaborate gilt scrolls. Gilt detail on handle, gilt dentil edge to cup rim. Shallow wide fluted tea cup, tapering to curved base and tapering footring. Ear shaped loop handle and scalloped rim. Same pattern as coffee cup, with underglaze blue border, gilt figure of eight motifs, and turquoise and black festoons, no medallion on side. Well decorated with depiction of ornate classical vase in yellow and grey within wide gilt circle. Fluted saucer, with curving sides and tapering footring. Upper surface decorated with same pattern of underglaze blue border, figure of eight motifs, turquoise and black festoons and husk border. In the centre, within border, circular panel outlined in gilt and filled with ornate classical vase in yellow and grey.
