The Gallery Café

We look forward to welcoming you to The Gallery Café, where the food, cakes and bakes have been made fresh for you on site by our in house team of bakers.

Our café menu is inspired by the season and the wider availability of exciting fresh produce. Head Chef Adam Leavy and his team have produced a range of dishes with the ethos of high-quality British comfort food done in the most sustainable way possible.

The Gallery Café is open Tuesday – Sunday, 10am – 5pm (last orders at 4.30pm).

Do you know that the Gallery Café is the oldest of its kind in the world? It was established in 1887.

In the early 20th Century it became famous for its afternoon tea (which is still very popular today) and attracted prominent artists, writers and intellectuals. It was a regular meeting place for members of the Manchester Literary Club, like Elizabeth Gaskell and Anthony Burgess.

All of our profits are reinvested into the gallery and its work within the Manchester community and beyond. That means every cup of coffee or slice of cake you purchase from us helps to make a positive impact on our city.

And speaking of positive impacts, we make a concerted effort to offer environmentally, socially and ethically sustainable products whenever possible. From B-Corp spirits to Fairtrade coffee and beer made from leftover bread, we’re always striving to do better and be better.
