The Monument of King John in ye Cathedral Church of Worcester

Summary

A tomb surrounded by a frame with a monument sculpture at the base. The monument is formed of a wave-like ornament with a scroll entitled MAGNA CHARTA and a crown, orb and sceptre above it. The tomb has a crowned figure in medieval dress lying from right to left, with the head to the right and the feet resting on a lion. Behind the head by the left shoulder is a small clerical figure. The top of the frame is decorated with funeral lamps to each side and a shield with three lions to the centre.
