Summary
A young woman watering a rose bush. The woman is wearing a white gown with a pink sash and a large black hat with black ostrich feather trim. She is holding a watering can in her left hand. There is a small dog at her feet to the left. An urn on a pedestal can be seen to the right, with honey suckle trailing over it. The trunk of a tree can be seen to the background right and there is a cold frame to the left edge. One of a pair of stipple engravings printed in colour and published in 1788 by John Raphael Smith. Its partner print is 'Rustic Employment' - see 1945.113.
