Summary

Figure group in a wood clearing. A female stands at the centre of the group, her limbs have turned into the branches and roots of a tree. An infant is being plucked from her womb by an attending female, and a crib is prepared for the infant in the centre foreground. Adonis is born from the side of Myrrha as she is turned into a tree, surrounded by a group of nymphs one of whom prepares a cradle.
