Summary
A hilly, wooded landscape with a distant view of a town in the centre of the painting. To the left is the figure of a boy kneeling down playing with a white dog (?) to the right is a body of water with a field of sheep over looking it. The light stone buildings in the centreground include a tall twin towered ecclesiastical building, Exeter Cathedral, which is slightly left of centre in the composition. There are hills behind the town at the back of the paniting and the exapnse of sky is cloudy but bright.
