Summary

An oblong box modelled in high relief as a spaniel curled up on a cushion, set in a plain, brass mount with a hinged, domed lid/base. Enamel on metal and painted in colours. The spaniel is depicted as a curly-haired, white variety with black ears and tail and black spots on the body; the cushion is a yellow with a brown fringe. The lid/base is ornamented in a freely painted style, showing a small landscape scene with a crouching spaniel beside a lake.
