Summary

Gourd-shaped teapot and lid made of stoneware with loop handle, raised foot and neck. Body stamped with quartrefoils and glazed with brown and green oxides that stream down the sides of the body.

Stoneware teapot circa 2000 Takeshi Yasuda Takeshi Yasuda makes pots that are thoughtfully designed to enhance the rituals of eating and drinking. This teapot is made in the shape of a gourd (a pumpkin-like vegetable) with a raised foot and rim. It is decorated with stamped quatrefoils – four lobed shapes and dribbles of brown and green glazes draw attention to the form. Purchased 2003.122
