Summary

Cream wool dress, printed with imitation cross stitch in maroon, red, green and blue. Fronts each in one section, vertical ruching each side centre front fastening, tapering to waist; fastens with 11 pearl buttons to below waist; narrow standing collar, trimmed with two lace frills extending down centre front opening and around loose panels of bodice; back in four shaped sections, lined cotton satin, seams extending to hem, inverted box pleating at waist at centre back and side back seams, stiffened at top with crinoline fabric; two tapes across back width inside; Skirt front in two sections, lined twilled silk, sewn to bodice lining, dart at hip each side; centre covered with frills of lace to hem, deep woollen frill round hem, lace-edged; pocket in right side seam, pad at back waist inside; sleeves in two shaped sections gathered below elbow, two lace frills at wrist; knots of very bright green, red, blue and cream ribbon decorating front at intervals from neck to hem, one at each wrist and at side seams where bodice becomes loose panel; red ribbon attached from each side seam to form tie at waist.
