coif & forehead cloth
Summary
Linen, embroidered in black silk and silver gilt thread raised work (strip wound round silk core). Coif: one length of material, shaped at each end, folded in half, seamed from edges half way to fold at top; hem at lower edge for drawstring, drawstring included (probably not original); embroidery worked in pattern of strawberries and bees alternating with dots in back and braid and laid stitches. Forehead cloth: triangular, blunted points at each end of long side; embroidered as coif.
