Summary

Shaped hand-piece with additional thumb sections and semi circular flaps behind fingers. Wrists and thumbs edged in narrow bobbin lace. Back decorated with embroidery. Front flaps decorated with panels of woven silk brocaded with a metal thread motif. Very fine hand stitching. Believed to have been worn by Charles Day who was christened in 1652. The Day family financed Oliver Cromwell's march on London from Norfolk.
