Black nylon lace. Girdle suspender belt, back fastening with hooks and eyes with black elastic and metal suspenders. Price 17/6d. The earliest reference to Adlis Brassieres in a London Directory appears in 1935 (W Adlis, 122A Kings Road, SW3); from 1937 it appears as Adlis Brassiere Co Ltd and in 1940 the firm moves to Bishops Road, SW6. From 1961-64 it appears at 22 Sussex St SW1 and from 1965 there is no mention of the company. (Westminster Archives)
