Summary

An oval box with straight sides, deep plain brass mount and hinged lid, the base of the box also has a brass mount. The lid is painted with a panel with rococo edges of classical ruins and foliage near a quayside with a large masted ship, small boat and several figures on a dark blue ground faintly decorated in trellis and dots in gold. The sides are painted with a festoon of flowers, a cock and a parrot and the bottom with a swan on a white ground.
