snuff box

Summary

An oval box with straight sides, moulded ormolu mount with wavy edges and a hinged lid. Enamel on metal and painted on the lid with a scene of a young and older man conversing with two ladies over whom a black page holds an umbrella bordered by yellow and gilt scroll borders. The sides are decorated with two panels of printed and painted landscapes in gilt scroll borders surrounded by a border of trellis and dot pattern. All on a green ground.
