Summary

Public: Etui of flattened oval section tapered towards the bottom with a deep hinged lid in a plain metal mount with plain metal mounts to the top and bottom; inside is fitted with eight implements. Enamel on metal and painted in colours with two panels of quay scenes and two of flowers, all within gilt scroll borders on a dark blue ground decorated with flowers and dots in gilt. Private: An etui of flattened oval section tapered towards the bottom with a deep hinged lid in a plain metal mount with plain metal mounts to the top and bottom; inside is fitted with a knife with a toroiseshell handle, scissors, stiletto, lace threader, bodkin, ear pick, silver spoon and an ivory memorandum tablet. Enamelled on metal and painted in colours on the body with two panels of a ship at a quay on one side and with a scene depicting monuments, figures and a boat on the other; on the lid are two panels of flowers. All panels are within gilt scroll borders on a dark blue ground decorated with flowers and dots in gold. On the top of the lid is a floral spray in gold on a similar ground.
