Summary

Public: Etui of flattened oval section tapered towards the bottom with a deep hinged lid in a chased scalloped edged metal mount with chased metal mounts to the top and bottom; inside is fitted with three implements. Enamelled on metal and painted in colours with five panels of landscape scenes containing female figures, all within gilt borders on a white ground decorated with flowers and dark blue irregular shaped panels. Private: Etui of flattened oval section tapered towards the bottom with a deep hinged lid in a chased scalloped edged metal mount with chased metal mounts to the top and bottom; inside is a brass measure, an ear pick and a bodkin. Enamelled on metal and painted in colours with five landscape scenes containing female figures; two on the body of a lady sitting beside a table with a mirror on it whilst another lady holds a parasol over her and another sits beside her and on the other side a lady sits in the foreground while two others walk behind her before a colonnade. Three further panels on the lid depict a lady playing a guitar, a lady playing a flute and one on the top of the lid of a lady with a parrot perched on her outstretched arm. All panels are within gilt borders on a white ground which is painted with numerous sprays of flowers and enriched with dark blue panels of irregular shape and two oval ones of plum colours in gilt borders.
