Summary

Cream silk taffeta brocaded with floral sprays in silk in shades of pink, red, blue, green and black, and Rococo 'C' scrolls in 3 types of gold thread. Similar to Anna Maria Garthwaite designs of the mid 1740s, but not positively identified. Inscribed in ink by mercers at end of piece in contemporary script; "N 709 18 1/2 yd". See DRESS 1947.2071.
