teapot

Summary

Teapot in the form of seated camel on shaped rectangular base, with legs tucked in to side of body. Camel bears tall rectangular tower (howdah) on its back, strapped around belly, sides decorated in relief with Chinoiserie scenes including armed soldier and figure in a garden with a parasol. Open-mouthed head and neck forms spout, handle in the form of a dolphin with upturned curled tail at lower terminal. Two part slip-cast body with sharply defined relief decoration, suggesting new mould was used.
