Summary

Sedan chair with three figures. The sedan chair is of softwood, painted yellow and black and has window apertures and hinged door decorated with wreaths and supported with two poles running through eyes in the side of the box. Inside the chair is a hand-sewn fabric doll with a printed face and dressed in mid-late 18th century costume with a high wig decorated with feathers, a yellow satin gown and blue damask dress and with a glass bead necklace and hair ornaments. The chair is carried by two fabric footmen dolls with wooden legs and printed faces. These wear black velvet tricorn hats, green felt coats and frilled waistcoats.
