Summary
Pear-shaped cream jug of drab grey stoneware, on three white feet in the form of a paw surmounted by grinning mask, tapering to cylindrical neck with white sparrow beak lip and white crabstock handle. Body decorated in red, green and yellow overglaze enamels (discoloured) with large floral spray beneath lip, flanked by two butterflies. Interior washed with fine white slip. Flattened circular cover of drab grey body painted with florals sprays, white bird finial with outstretched wings, picked out in blue, green and red enamels. Underside of cover washed with fine white slip.
