Summary

Cream linen embroidered in cream silk. Lining of cotton/linen mix. Rectangular, widening to base, tapes at top end for tying. 15cm slit in top side, decorated with pattern of inter lacing circles and formal flowers in back stitch and chain stitch. Almost certainly made from an earlier embroidered textile, a bed quilt or pillow cover. The silk embroidery was probably originally bright yellow, but has bleached out with continued washing.
