Summary
Blue and white silk brocade covering, lined with cream linen overdouble thickness of stiff linen. Boned shaping from back to front in lining. Shoulder straps with hole for inserting busks at back. Holes for lacing down high back and low front. White leather tabs at waist. This is a stay bodice typical of the 1730s. The silk, which may be Spitalfields, has a typical broken stem and branch design.
