Summary

Cylindrical tea caddy, with stepped sloping shoulder and narrow cylindrical neck, cover missing. Sides decorated with form of marbled decoration comprising shreds of dark brown, light brown, blue and white coloured clays applied to surface and turned smooth on a lathe, giving granite-like pattern, surmounted by a narrow inlaid slip band of black and white checks beneath shoulder. Stepped shoulder painted underglaze in cobalt blue with border of interlocking arches, enclosing band of applied granite pattern beneath plain white neck. Blue pearlware glaze, pooling on underside.
