Public: Ovoid jug with cylindrical neck and angled handle, white earthenware with a pearlware glaze, decorated in resist with leafy sprays in white against metallic silver lustre ground, two overglaze printed purple landscapes in reserved oval panels. Private: Ovoid jug on spreading footring, tapering to waisted neck with inset sparrow beak lip, and shaped strap loop handle with outer spur at lower terminal. White earthenware body with a blue pearlware glaze, with resist decoration against metallic silver lustre ground, of large circular flowerhead beneath lip surrounded by scrolling leafy stems and two large oval reserves on sides. Neck decorated with resist fluted border, lip with single four-petalled flower, and handle with two vertical stripes. Oval reserves printed in overglaze purple with repeated rural landscape comprising lady and gentleman strolling through field with sheep and shepherd, country house in background.
