Summary

Child's stays. Blue-grey twilled cotton, lined with white twilled cotton. Back lacing, fastening at front with metal hooks and studs. High at back to form straps over shoulder, strap in two sections, piped at edge with strips of cotton, slots inbetween fasten onto bone button threaded with tape and attached to shaped fronts. Bone buttons threaded with tape at each side near base. Top, straps and base bound with twilled cotton braid. Neck and front underarms edged with embroidered cotton edging in pink silk. Inscribed "4/6".
