Summary

Baby's day dress, christening robe, ivory silk embroidered in ivory thread. I of 12 items 1979.643/1-12. High yoked long dress with short sleeves. The high-waisted straight yoke which is lined, has an embroidered pattern of flowers and dots. Plain round neckline edged with blanket stitch. Bodice back fastening with small concealed mother-of-pearl buttons and thread loops. Short puffed sleeves with ruffled cuff edged with blanket stitch. Full gathered skirt cut in two pieces with full-width front panel (91cm) wide, narrow width back panel. Hem is finished with embroidered flowers (? roses) with bullion knot petals, and with dotted eyelet holes. The hem is finished with (purchased) cotton lace of East Midlands bobbin type. All sewing done by hand.
