The Keeper

Orlando Greenwood 1892 - 1989

Summary

A caricatured portrait of a gamekeeper, in a half-length, left side profile, standing with a rifle resting in his right arm, his chest puffed out, and left hand holding onto the lapel of his black waistcoat. He wears a green cap which keeps his eyes in shadow, but his large nose protrudes beneath. The top of a stone wall is just visible immediately behind him, with a large house and grounds in the distance. The strong, dark colours of the gamekeeps is in contrast with the soft autumnal colours of the background.
