Summary

Piece of cover or towel of fine white cotton with reversible embroidery in coloured silks (pink, red, blue, shades of grey and green), metal strips and wires (with a core of cream or pale yellow silk). Pattern of scrolling stems with naturalistic flower and leaf forms: stems in satin stitch in metal threads with small bows (showing French influence); flower forms in fine darning; secondary stems in double running. Edge hemmed in cream silk.
