Summary

Black velvet, silk net and silk chiffon. Lined with black plain weave silk. Velvet crown base built onto shallow wire frameowrk, circular wire brim turned up at edge, entirely filled with tucked net on upper side and covered with tucked chiffon on underside. Large net rosette and vestigial white feather at front left upper side. Stiffened crescent-shaped headband at centre front inside edge, trimmed with curved facetted metal brooch and bunch of pale blue fabric flowers at left.
