Black very long-haired felt simulating fur. Lined with black plain weave silk. Turndown brim. Brim and crown sides almost covered by band of grey ostrich feathers built onto white silk. Tongue-shaped buckle at centre front, buckram covered with metallic braid and facetted metal beads with hinged metal prong. Stiffened velvet crescent-shaped band at inside left.
